I am ByerN, software engineer, loving father and solo indie developer from Poland! Right now I am working on my first commercial game for PC - TAnima. TAnima is a 2d action roguelite with a rich story and deck-building mechanics. You collect cards, build a dungeon with them, solve quests, and upgrade your character. All of this - while talking with the main antagonist - TAnima. The living crystal.
History
Before TAnimaI started to make games more than 15 years ago. It started as a playground for learning new programming technologies - which ended up in becoming a professional telehealth software engineer. In my spare time, I was still working on side gamedev projects. I even released a few small mobile games. But all the time - I was thinking about making something bigger.
Beginning of TAnima4 years ago, I decided to make an MMO, story-rich, rogue-lite game - something that didn't exist back then. I played a lot of roguelikes, and I loved the idea behind this genre. Something that I found missing was the deep story. It was hard to find a game that explores this weird marriage (it changed later as you probably know!). That's how it started! I was working after hours. Sometimes stopping development for months, and coming back to it. At some point, I've found out that it's not that easy (from the game design perspective) to develop a story and massive multiplayer at the same time. I've clung to the story-telling part, postponing going online for the future (or another game).
Sliding Swords!I consider TAnima as the beginning of the new gaming universe. I plan to make more games (in different genres) that will accompany this one. One of them is the new game - Sliding Swords! Check it out in the "projects" page!
